QWhat is a solvent regeneration device ?
A

A solvent regeneration device distills and regenerates waste solvents discharged from painting and solvent operations, etc., making them reusable. It separates the solvents used for cleaning (thinner, methanol, acetone, etc.) from the dirt (ink paint, oil, resin, etc.) allowing the solvents to be reused without being discarded.

QAre there any requirements for installing solvent regeneration equipment or solvent recovery equipment ?
A

The compact recovery device CA-101-A and compact vacuum distillation recovery device CA-103-A, which are installed in a safe place (non-explosion-proof), can be installed anywhere that handles less than one-fifth of the designated quantity of hazardous material. For other explosion-proof equipment, a notification or permission application to the fire department is required. In addition, notification to the Labor Standards Inspection Office is required in accordance with the Organic Solvent Poisoning Prevention Regulations. (The above regulations apply for Japan).

QWhat liquids can be recycled and what can not ?
A

  • Liquids that can be recycled

    Petroleum Class 1, waste thinner, toluene, ethyl acetate, alcohol, chlorine-based, CFCs, hydrocarbon-based cleaning agents, Petroleum Class 2 and Class 3

  • Liquids that can not be recycled

    Strong acids, strong alkalis, water, etc.

QWhat are the benefits of installing the equipment ?
A

The recovered solvent after distillation can be used as a regenerated solvent.
Recycling significantly reduces the amount of solvent purchased and the amount of waste solvent discharged.

The system is effective as part of SDGs, ISO14001, PRTR, Zero Emissions, Carbon Offsets, and other initiatives

QWhat is the purity of the recycled solvent ?
A

Basically, as far as gas chromatography analysis etc. is concerned, it is almost as good as new.

*Some of the above results may not be obtained due to impurities contained in the solvent. A sample test is recommended.
