KOBEX Co., Ltd. obtains SBT (Science Based Targets) Certification2025/05/06

– Greenhouse gas reduction targets for global warming countermeasures approved internationally –

KOBEX Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture: President and CEO: Keiichi Matsubara) is pleased to announce that in May 2025, our greenhouse gas emission targets have been officially approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) under the Science Based Targets (SBT), an international framework for climate change measures.

“We will reduce our Scope 2 and Scope 3 GHG (Greenhouse Gases) emissions by 42% by 2030, using 2023 as a base year. We will also measure and reduce our Scope 3 emissions”

This goal is based on international scientific evidence, as set out in the Paris Agreement, which aims to “limit global warming to 1.5℃ above pre-industrial levels” and our efforts have been recognized as contributing to global climate change measures.

Obtaining SBT certification is an important milestone that symbolizes the balance between environmental responsibility and competitiveness in the global market, in line with KOBEX’s vision of “realizing a sustainable society as a high-value-added manufacturing industry”.

Going forward, we will continue to innovate our recycled solvent technology and promote decarbonization throughout our manufacturing processes and supply chain, thereby increasing our environmental value as a company.
